How to Create an eLearning Module
Updated over a month ago

There are 2 steps to follow when creating an eLearning module,

Step 1: Create the Module

Step 2: Create Training Content

Create the Module

IMPORTANT: In an Enterprise environment, the eLearning Modules you create will be visible (but not editable) in each of the Organizations in your Enterprise. If, however, the Qualification that the module represents is not visible in a specific Organization, any eLearning Modules that are associated with that Qualification will not be visible in that Organization.

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “eLearning Modules” found in the sidebar under Resources

  2. Click the [+ Add New eLearning Module] button at the top or bottom of the page

  3. eLearning Module: enter a name (maximum 200 characters), visible to volunteers.

  4. Optional: Enter any Internal Notes about the Module that you only want administrators to see

  5. Optional: Check the Display box if you want your active eLearning Module to be displayed as a link on the volunteer’s Training page in MyImpactPage.com and the My Impact app.

    • Select Module status(es) for display

    • Review: If the Display option is checked, you can check this option to enable volunteers to review completed Modules

  6. Select the Qualification

    • TIP: If the Qualification does not yet exist, you can create a new one by clicking the green [+] button

  7. Select a Qualification Level from the options provided.

  8. If the Qualification has an expiry date associated:

    • Enter the Valid For Months number

    • Enter Retake Days number

  9. Enter the Passing Score (expressed as a percentage) that a volunteer needs in order to pass the Module.

    • Once the volunteer has passed the module, associated qualification level will be added to their profile automatically.

    • If you wish, update the admin email notifications in your profile’s Miscellaneous section, to be notified when a volunteer successfully completes the module

  10. Optional: Customize the message received by volunteers for Passed, Failed, Inactive or Already Has Qualification status. Default messages are available for all options (view by clicking on the Information icon beside the message option)

  11. Click the [Save] button

Important: If a volunteer completes an e-learning module and they already have the qualification level with an expiry date beyond the “valid for” days selected for that module, their expiry date will remain the same. If the qualification level changes after completing the module, then the expiry date will be updated.

Creating an eLearning Module Using a Template

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “eLearning Modules” found in the sidebar under Resources

  2. Click on the [eLearning Module Library] button

  4. Click the [Search] button

  5. Mouse over the Options icon to the left of the template name

  6. Select “Use This Template”

    • You can also choose to “View” or “Preview” the module

  7. Preview and update fields as needed

  8. Select the Qualification

    • TIP: If the Qualification does not yet exist, you can create a new one by clicking the green [+] button

  9. Select a Qualification Level from the options provided.

  10. If the Qualification has an expiry date associated:

    • Enter the Valid For Months number

    • Enter Retake Days number

  11. Click the [Save] button

Creating Training Content

The training content will need to be added to an eLearning module section.

Add an eLearning Module Section

About this feature: The sections of your eLearning module contain the content (text, videos, images, files) and questions that make up the eLearning module. One question can be created per section, but not all sections need to have a question. It is recommended that you keep the content in a separate section from the related question(s).

Note: An eLearning module can contain an unlimited number of sections.

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “eLearning Modules” found in the sidebar under Resources

  2. Mouse over the Options icon to the left of a Module

  3. Select “Add New Section”

  4. Enter an Internal Name (maximum 100 characters). This will not be visible to your volunteers

  5. Enter the Content (what the volunteer will see).

    • The Text Box field can contain text, images, and/or videos.

  6. Check “This section has a question” to add a question for your volunteers to answer

    • If this section is for informational or display purposes only, do not check this box

  7. If the content of this section has a question, enter the first potential answer in the box beside the letter “a.”

  8. Click the [Add Answer] button to add additional potential answers to the question, and enter the desired text.

  9. Optional: Drag and drop the answers, using the arrows on the right, to re-arrange them

  10. Click the [o] button to the right of the correct answer to your question

  11. Click the [Save] button
