Qualifications Categories

Administrators can now manage Qualifications more easily with the introduction of Categories: you can group related qualifications together, making it easier to assign them to roles and track volunteer skills.


Shared Searches & Reports

Saved searches and reports now include a sharing feature:

  • Administrators can save commonly used searches and report filters for quick access later.

  • Saved searches and reports can now be shared with other administrators, ensuring the entire team is aligned and using the same criteria.

  • Pinned shared searches and reports are now visible to all admins who have access, making it easier for teams to stay aligned.

  • Visibility respects admin permissions and roles, ensuring shared searches and reports are only accessible to the appropriate team members.


New Survey Question Type

A brand-new question type is now available in your surveys: Single Select Matrix!

  • Administrators can create a grid of related questions that share the same answer options — perfect for gathering structured feedback quickly.

  • Use it to ask volunteers how they feel about multiple topics (like training, communication, and scheduling) in a single, easy-to-answer format. 

  • When reporting, each matrix row appears as its own column in exports for easy analysis.


Verified First Integration

Better Impact now offers an integration with Verified First for background checks.

  • A new Verified First section will appear in the Qualifications tab when an administrator has the Verified First browser plugin installed and is logged into their Verified First account.

  • From here, administrators can initiate background checks and view the status of existing ones.

  • Please note: This is a one-way integration. Verified First receives the user information, but Better Impact does not import background check status data. Searches and reports cannot include VF results. Organizations that need to track outcomes should continue to use Qualifications, alongside the integration.


Refer a Friend

You can now easily refer other organizations to Better Impact using the Refer a Friend feature.

On the right side of your admin home page, you will see this widget that includes a button that opens a pop-up where you can access your unique referral link and share it with other volunteer managers.

This provides an easy way for your organization to help other agencies discover Better Impact.

  • Admins who successfully refer another organization will receive our brand new Promoter badge!


Find Your Community

The “We’re Here to Help” button has been renamed to “Find Your Community.”

It’s your hub for connecting with other Better Impact administrators and resources:

  • Better Impact Buddies: Find or become a mentor in your field.

  • User Groups: Join discussions and share best practices.

  • Webinars: Discover upcoming sessions from volunteer management leaders.

  • And more!


Accessibility – UserWay Widget

Accessibility options are now easier to manage through the UserWay Widget, available across the Better Impact platform.

  • Visibility depends on agency and user settings.

  • Available on admin, volunteer, and public-facing pages when enabled.

  • Settings are browser-specific and can be toggled in your Customization Preferences or My Profile page (for volunteers).

  • Feature availability may vary by subscription package.
