Organizing activities with categories

About this feature: Activity Categories can be used to group similar activities together. Grouping can help organize the activities, making it easier for volunteers to navigate through, and help administrators quickly find and report on associated activities.


Add Activity Category

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “Manage Activities” found in the sidebar under Activities

  2. Mouse over the Options icon in the “Activities” header and click on “New Category” (or click the [+ New Category] button at the bottom of the page)

  3. Enter an Activity Category name (maximum 50 characters)

  4. Optional: Enter a Description

  5. Click the [Save] button

Edit Activity Category

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “Manage Activities” found in the sidebar under Activities

  2. Scroll down to the Complete Category List

  3. Mouse over the Options icon beside the Activity Category you would like to update

  4. Click on “Edit”

  5. Make the desired changes

  6. Click the [Save] button

Delete Activity Category

About this feature: If a Category, with associated Activities, is deleted, the associated Activities will remain but will be moved under the default category of “Uncategorized”.

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “Manage Activities” found in the sidebar under Activities

  2. Scroll down to the Complete Category List

  3. Mouse over the Options icon beside the Activity Category you would like to update

  4. Click on “Delete”

  5. Click the [Delete] button to confirm

Move an Activity to a Different Category

  1. Go to: Configuration, then click on “Manage Activities” found in the sidebar under Activities

  2. For long activity lists, use the filters in the top panel and click the green [Filter Activities] button

  3. Mouse over the Options icon beside the Activity

  4. Click on “Change Category”

  5. Select the new category from the dropdown list

  6. Click the [Save] button
