May 2026 – 4x14 Update

New feature release: Monday, May 18th, 2026, 10:00pm EST

Public Page Minimalist Template

We’re introducing a new Public Page Template Library, starting with the Minimalist template - a modern, streamlined design for your public-facing volunteer recruitment pages.

Administrators can now:

  • Choose to use the new Minimalist template on their Public Page

  • Switch between available templates (Legacy and Minimalist)

  • Edit settings for either template at any time

  • Preview templates before applying changes

When switching templates, changes are saved and applied to the selected template, with clear messaging depending on whether the template is currently live or not.

The Minimalist template includes new customization options such as:

  • A configurable landing page with title, cover photo, and message

  • A recruitment section that can display activities and/or general interests

  • A customizable application button label

  • Social media links displayed as simple icons

When enabled, the Minimalist design applies across public-facing recruitment pages, including the home page, activity pages, and general interest pages.

The Legacy template has also been updated to include preview functionality and a simplified save experience.

Theme Settings Improvements

Theme customization is now faster and more intuitive with the introduction of a new Defaults section.

Administrators can define:

  • Primary and secondary colours (main and accent)

  • A global font

These settings can automatically apply across multiple theme elements, making it easier to align your platform with your organization’s branding.

When selecting a primary colour, the system automatically sets an appropriate accent colour (black or white) to ensure contrast.

Individual settings can still be adjusted manually at any time.

Social Media Settings Updates

At both Organization and Enterprise level, the existing social media content is now wrapped in a "Social Media Widgets" heading/container with its own save button in the heading. At the Organization level, a new section for social media links (used by the Minimalist template) has been added below, with its own separate save button.

Enterprise Security Group Management

Administrators can now "View Administrators" from the Enterprise Security Group Management page.

Public Enterprise Page - Accessibility Improvements

We've made several accessibility improvements to the public enterprise page. Most are not noticeable to the end user except:

  • On a search result page, there is a new top-level container with a heading of "Search Results" that contains the content.

  • Increased spacing on the search accordion elements.

  • Increased spacing on the activity/general interest list in a search result page.

Other Updates

Miscellaneous UI improvements have been made across the platform:

  • Edit User - Print and View buttons are now a consistent size.

  • Improved formatting on the micro help for Application Form Settings (show required fields only setting).

  • Improved rendering and behaviour on the Manage Running Time Clocks "Update Activity" dialog - now selects the current activity in the dropdown when possible, and has smarter list loading. If the current activity is one the volunteer can no longer see, a message is displayed.

  • Improved validation on numbers for the Logged Hours search.

  • Dynamic date controls - No longer wrap when fonts are large, and render more consistently. This should resolve most cases where the advanced dynamic date set button was sometimes hidden or cut off.

  • My Saved Reports - If running with a saved search and the search does not return anyone, an error is now shown instead of running the report with everyone.

  • Enterprise Quick Search - The control now retains the most recently used search type more reliably. Previously, if the administrator landed on the account selection page, the quick search would default to "Switch Account" instead of their previous search type.

  • Fixed the time not being populated on the "Most recent contribution" on the Volunteer Dashboard for timeclock entries.

  • Improved the accuracy of the theme preview for mobile/app.

  • Improved rendering of many dialogs when a non-standard font preference is set on the admin side (better scaling to fit).

  • Improved input size for dates and numbers when font preference is set to Medium or Large.

  • Organization Admin Home Page layout improvements - If the screen gets narrow, the status update no longer escapes its container. If the screen gets too narrow for the columns to be side by side (with the left nav hidden), the column widths now increase to take up all available space instead of staying narrow.
